　　学堂之所以成为现代文化人经常谈论的话题，很大程度上缘于它作为学习知识、养成兴趣、孕育人格与传承精神的机构和场所。本书所编选的是近四十年来谈论学堂的散文篇什，第一辑“遥忆学堂路”中所选的十多篇文章中，当事人在忆及早年学堂生活时的幽怀别抱、各有所偏，也足见此类文章的个人性和丰富性。第二辑“幸运的年月”作家们回忆自己的成长与教育经历，在那段已然遥远的岁月中，无论是与母校的结缘，与师长的交流，与时代的会晤，抑或是与一次来之不易的机会的邂逅等，往往都会成为回忆者珍藏的幸运。第三辑“心中的母校”中，师长的嘉言懿行、同学的深情厚谊，都成为作家们日后不断追忆与回味的内容。最后一辑“永远的校园”所选取的文章，既指向百年学堂的内在魅力——其校训、“校格”和传统等，也指向今日校园让人堪忧的外部干扰，比如制度性因素等。各篇文章进入的角度虽然有别，可主要着眼点却是一致的，那就是突出教师、知识分子与学堂的精神联系。






　　陈平原

　　1954年生于广东潮州。现任北京大学博雅讲席教授（2008—2012年任北大中文系主任）、北京大学现代中国人文研究所所长、教育部“长江学者”特聘教授、中央文史研究馆馆员。主要研究领域有20世纪中国文学、现代中国教育及学术、中国小说史、中国散文史等。先后出版《中国小说叙事模式的转变》《千古文人侠客梦》《中国现代学术之建立：以章太炎、胡适之为中心》《触摸历史与进入五四》《作为学科的文学史》《左图右史与西学东渐：晚清画报研究》《现代中国的述学文体》等著作三十余种。

　　男，福建漳浦人，文学博士，北京师范大学文学院副教授。主持国家社科基金、教育部人文社会科学研究基金等科研项目多项。主编有《中国现代文学编年史（1906—1915）》《为学与做人》等。

Introduction of works

The reason why the school has become a topic that modern cultural people often talk about is largely because it is an institution and place for learning knowledge, developing interest, breeding personality and inheriting spirit. This book is a selection of essays about school in the past 40 years, the first series of "Remote memories of school Road" selected more than a dozen articles, the parties recalled the early school life in different feelings, each has their own differences, which also shows the personal nature and richness of such articles. The second volume of "Lucky Years" writers recall their own growth and education experience, in that already distant years, whether it is the friendship with the Alma mater, the exchange with the teachers, the meeting with The Times, or the encounter with a hard-won opportunity, often become the memory of the lucky. In the third series "Alma Mater in the heart", the teachers' words and deeds and the deep friendship of the students have become the contents of the writers' memories and aftertaste in the future. The final collection, "Campus Forever," selects articles that point both to the inner charm of the century-old school - its motto, "school pattern" and traditions - and to the disturbing external disturbances of today's campus, such as institutional factors. Although the angles of each article are different, the main focus is the same, that is, to highlight the spiritual connection between teachers, intellectuals and schools.

Chen Pingyuan

Born in Chaozhou, Guangdong Province in 1954. He is currently Professor of Liberal Arts at Peking University (2008-2012 Director of the Department of Chinese Literature at Peking University), director of the Institute of Modern Chinese Humanities at Peking University, Special Professor of "Changjiang Scholar" of the Ministry of Education, and member of the Central Institute of Literature and History. His research interests include 20th century Chinese literature, modern Chinese education and scholarship, history of Chinese fiction, and history of Chinese prose. He has published more than 30 books, such as The Transformation of the Narrative Mode of Chinese Novels, The Dream of the Literati through the Ages, The Establishment of modern Chinese Scholarship: Centered on Zhang Taiyan and Hu Shizhi, Touching History and entering the May Fourth Movement, the History of Literature as a Discipline, the History of the Left and the Right and the Eastern Spread of Western Learning: A Study of Pictorial Newspapers in the Late Qing Dynasty, and the Style of Describing Learning in Modern China.

Male, born in Zhangpu, Fujian Province, Doctor of Literature, Associate Professor, School of Literature, Beijing Normal University. He presided over a number of scientific research projects such as the National Social Science Fund and the Humanities and Social Science Research Fund of the Ministry of Education. He is the chief editor of the Annals of Modern Chinese Literature (1906-1915) and for Learning and Being a Man.
