作者简介
科林·琼斯，英国历史学家、法国史专家，曾任英国皇家历史学会主席。毕业于牛津大学，现于伦敦大学任教，曾在斯坦福大学、芝加哥大学、普林斯顿大学、巴黎八大、法兰西公学院等著名高校及科研机构任访问学者。著有《剑桥插图法国史》《凡尔赛宫》《微笑革命》《伟大民族》等十余部著作。2014年，因其在历史研究和高等教育领域的杰出贡献荣获大英帝国勋章。

About the author
Colin Jones is a British historian, French historian and former president of the Royal Historical Society. He graduated from the University of Oxford and now teaches at the University of London. He has been a visiting scholar at Stanford University, the University of Chicago, Princeton University, Paris VIII, the College de France and other famous universities and research institutions. He is the author of more than ten books, including the Cambridge Illustrated History of France, Versailles, The Smiling Revolution and the Great Nation. In 2014, he was awarded an OBE for outstanding services to historical research and higher education.
