作者简介
马克·吕布(MarcRiboud),法国著名摄影师。1923年6月24日出生于法国里昂,以其对东方世界的广泛报道而广为人知。“二战”期间曾参加法国抵抗运动,之后进入里昂中央理工学院学习机械并从事过工程师工作,1951年开始把全部精力投入摄影中。1952年,他结识了亨利·卡蒂埃-布列松和罗伯特·卡帕,随后加入著名的玛格南图片社。1957年,马克成为50年代首位获准进入中国拍摄的西方摄影师(此后他来往中国达20余次)。1968年、1972年以及1976年,他对北越作了数次新闻报道,从越南和美国两个视角记录战争。2016年8月30日马克在法国巴黎去世。
马克·吕布曾两次担任玛格南欧洲分部主席。他的作品曾刊登于《生活》《国家地理》《巴黎竞赛画报》和《明星周刊》等多家杂志。他还曾两次获得美国海外新闻协会大奖、纽约国际摄影中心“无限奖”(InfinityAward)以及索尼世界摄影大赛终生成就奖等。

This book is a comprehensive review of Marc Lub's classic works. Spanning more than half the globe and spanning more than 50 years of his photography career, these images fully represent Mark's aesthetic of photography - everyday, informed, intuitive and poetic. Many classic moments have become the epitome of the 20th century: painters dancing like the Eiffel Tower in Paris, girls holding flowers against bayonets, streets separated by Windows in Liulichang in Beijing, and so on. In addition, it also contains many rare and precious images.
The arrangement of the book is also very clever, breaking the bondage of time and place, the text does not have a word, and it is completely carried by visual clues, so that readers can feel the most authentic image power of the master.
About the author
Marc Luboud is a famous French photographer. Born on 24 June 1923 in Lyon, France, he is widely known for his extensive coverage of the Eastern world. After participating in the French Resistance during World War II, he studied mechanics and worked as an engineer at the Ecole Polytechnique Centrale de Lyon, and in 1951 he began to devote all his energy to photography. In 1952, he met Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Capa, and then joined the famous Magnum photo agency. In 1957, Mark became the first Western photographer allowed to shoot in China in the 1950s (he has since traveled there more than 20 times). In 1968, 1972, and 1976, he made several news reports on North Vietnam, documenting the war from both Vietnamese and American perspectives. Mark died on August 30, 2016 in Paris, France.
Marc Lub has twice served as Chairman of Magnum Europe. His work has appeared in Life, National Geographic, Paris Match and Star magazine, among others. He has also won two awards from the American Overseas Press Association, the InfinityAward from the International Center of Photography in New York, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the SONY World Photo Contest.
