“巫鸿美术史文集”是芝加哥大学巫鸿教授中国美术研究成果的全面集成，编年汇集了巫鸿几乎所有古代中国美术史的论文和未发表讲稿，串联四十年学术历程中散落的明珠，透视学者思维发展成熟的脉络。
《思考尺度》是巫鸿美术史文集的第七卷，收录作者2019年至2021年的12篇论文与讲稿，内容涵盖绘画、雕塑、墓葬美术、宗教美术、摄影等方面，从尺度、空间、媒材、作品细读等角度展开对雕塑、山水画、莫高窟、肖像画等内容的探讨，见解独到且具有研究方法上的启发性。
作者简介
巫鸿（WuHung），著名美术史家、批评家、策展人，芝加哥大学教授。
1963年考入中央美术学院美术史系学习。1972—1978年任职于故宫博物院书画组、金石组。1978年重返中央美术学院美术史系攻读硕士学位。1980—1987年就读于哈佛大学，获美术史与人类学双重博士学位。随即在哈佛大学美术史系任教，于1994年获终身教授职位，同年受聘主持芝加哥大学亚洲艺术教学，执“斯德本特殊贡献教授”讲席。2002年建立东亚艺术研究中心并任主任，兼任该校斯马特美术馆顾问策展人。2008年被遴选为美国国家文理学院终身院士，并获美国大学艺术学会美术史教学特殊贡献奖，2016年获选为英国牛津大学斯莱德讲座教授，2018年获选为美国大学艺术学会杰出学者，2019年获选为美国国家美术馆梅隆讲座学者，并获得哈佛大学荣誉艺术博士。成为大陆赴美学者获得这些荣誉的第一人。
"Thinking scale" content introduction
"Wu Hong Art History Collection" is a comprehensive integration of Professor Wu Hong's research results on Chinese art at the University of Chicago. It brings together almost all of Wu Hong's papers and unpublished speeches on ancient Chinese art history, connecting the scattered pearls in the academic process of 40 years, and perspective the mature development of scholars' thinking.
"Thinking about Scale" is the seventh volume of Wu Hong's art history collection, which includes 12 papers and speeches by the author from 2019 to 2021, covering painting, sculpture, tomb art, religious art, photography and other aspects. It discusses sculpture, landscape painting, Mogao Grottoes, portraits and other aspects from the perspectives of scale, space, media and close reading of works. It has unique insights and inspiring research methods.
About the author
WuHung is a renowned art historian, critic, curator and professor at the University of Chicago.
In 1963, he was admitted to the Art History Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. From 1972 to 1978, he worked in the painting and Calligraphy Group and the Stone Group of the Palace Museum. In 1978, he returned to the Art History Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts to pursue a master's degree. From 1980 to 1987, he studied at Harvard University and received a dual doctorate in art history and anthropology. He then taught in the Department of Art History at Harvard University, and in 1994 was awarded a tenured professorship. In the same year, he was appointed to chair the Asian Art teaching at the University of Chicago, where he held the "Steppen Special Contribution Professor" chair. In 2002, he established the East Asian Art Research Center and served as the director and consultant curator of the Smart Art Museum of the university. In 2008, he was selected as a lifetime fellow of the National College of Arts and Sciences, and won the Special Contribution Award for Art History Teaching of the American University Art Society, in 2016, he was elected as the Slade Chair Professor of the University of Oxford, in 2018, he was elected as the Distinguished Scholar of the American University Art Society, and in 2019, he was elected as the Mellon Chair Scholar of the National Gallery of Art. He received an honorary Doctor of Arts from Harvard University. He became the first scholar from the mainland to receive these honors.
