About the author

ArthurHerman was a famous American historian and best-selling author. He received his Ph.D. in history from Hopkins University and was a visiting scholar at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. He taught at Catholic University of America, Georgetown University, and George Mason University in the 1980s and 1990s, and is currently a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute. From 2007 to 2009, he was the first non-British person to be appointed to the Scottish Arts and Culture Council. Herrmann's works have great themes, solid historical materials, vivid writing, academic and readability, and are well sold and highly respected by people from all walks of life.
