作者简介
蔡南雄
蔡南雄博士出生于中国台湾，分别于1969年、1971年、1978年获台湾大学电机系学士、台湾交通大学电子工程硕士及美国斯坦福大学材料科学博士学位。蔡博士曾经在美国硅谷Intel和Fairchild担任IC工艺开发工程师，并曾获得台湾交通大学杰出校友和台湾十大杰出工程师的荣誉。
蔡博士曾经直接参与五座IC生产工厂及一座硅片生产工厂的兴建，并且从事Memory、Logic、IGBT等产品和生产工艺的研发、工厂管理和产品销售等企管工作。从1983年起，蔡博士前后合伙创办了台湾茂矽电子股份有限公司、江苏无锡华晶上华半导体有限公司、台湾合晶科技股份有限公司、浙江宁波中纬积体电路有限公司及长沙创芯集成电路有限公司，负责各项专业工作，以及担任总经理和董事长职务。
The Global Journey of a single atom of Silicon
The author's career in integrated circuits, from the time level, runs through most of the process from the embryonic stage to the growth stage of the industry, experiencing 9 generations from 2 microns to 0.13 microns; From the perspective of space, it also runs through the whole process of the industrial manufacturing center from Europe and the United States, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan to the Chinese mainland.
The trajectory of his life traveled the globe like a single atom of silicon, almost in common frequency with the trajectory of capital and technology transfer in the semiconductor industry. This book traces the course of the author's life, showing his changing identity and industrial interaction, as well as the development of the global and Chinese integrated circuit industry.
About the author
CAI Nanxiong
Dr. CAI Nanxiong was born in Taiwan, China. He received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Taiwan University in 1969, a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Taiwan Chiao Tung University in 1971, and a Doctor's degree in Materials science from Stanford University in 1978. Dr. CAI has worked as an IC process development engineer at Intel and Fairchild in Silicon Valley, USA, and has been honored as an Outstanding Alumnus of Taiwan Chiao Tung University and one of Taiwan's Top Ten Outstanding Engineers.
Dr. CAI has been directly involved in the construction of five IC production plants and one silicon wafer production plant, and engaged in the research and development of Memory, Logic, IGBT and other products and production processes, plant management and product sales. Since 1983, Dr. CAI co-founded Taiwan Silico Electronics Co., LTD., Jiangsu Wuxi Huajing Shanghua Semiconductor Co., LTD., Taiwan Hejing Technology Co., LTD., Zhejiang Ningbo Zhongwei Integrated Circuit Co., LTD., and Changsha Chuangxin Integrated Circuit Co., LTD., where he was responsible for various professional work and served as general manager and chairman.
