　　英国陆军军官、军事理论家和战争历史学家，现代装甲战争理论的奠基人之一，英国机械化战争的先驱，军事战略家和历史学家之一。他于1930年晋升少将，1933年退休后成为伦敦《每日邮报》记者，长期致力于军事历史研究和军事理论著述，并于1963年获得英国三军学会的zui高荣誉奖章。富勒一生出版了45部军事著作，其中不少被英国陆军军事学院列为经典著作或选为教科书。

The Decisive Battle of the Western World and Its Impact on History

Fuller, a military strategist and historian, spent thirty years of hard work and finally completed this crystallization of war history.

The book consists of three volumes. The first volume, starting from the beginning of the war history and ending with the naval Battle of Lepanto in 1572, focuses on the history of Western wars in the classical era and the Middle Ages, and expounds the birth and development of Western war art, as well as the course of Western nations competing for supremacy around the Mediterranean world, with a time span of more than 3,000 years.

The second volume, starting from the battle for maritime supremacy between Britain and Spain and ending with the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, introduces the history of Western warfare in the Renaissance era, modern times and the American War of Independence, and analyzes the major military events in Western history after the advent of the gunpowder age and before the birth of the railway and the internal combustion engine, and their impact on history. Covers about 300 years.

The third volume begins with the American Civil War and culminates with the two World Wars, covering dozens of battles from the American Civil War to the Battle of Leyte Gulf. With events as a link, it traces the entire time line from the beginning of the Industrial Revolution to the end of the Second World War, discussing how war has changed from a policy tool to a policy itself, and how war continues to affect the course of human history with the new look of "Cold War".

About the author

Original work: J.F.C. Fuller (1878-1966)

British army officer, military theorist and historian of war, one of the founders of modern armored warfare theory, a pioneer of British mechanized warfare, and one of the military strategists and historians. He was promoted to major General in 1930, and retired in 1933 to become a correspondent for the Daily Mail in London, where he devoted himself to military history and military theory, and was awarded the Highest Honours Medal of the British Armed Forces Institute in 1963. During his lifetime, Fuller published 45 military works, many of which were listed as classics by the British Army Military College or selected as textbooks.

Wang Ziwu (translator of the first volume), a native of Tianjin, engaged in the translation of historical books for many years, has published translations such as the History of Alexander's War and the History of Medieval War, and has written the History of the Samurai War and other works.

Li Chenxi (translator of the second volume), born in Huainan, Anhui Province, lecturer in Huainan Union University, once studied in Australia Macquarie University. He has worked as a translator for many years, and his representative work is the Puzzles of Bletchley House.
