赛珍珠(1892—1973),美国女作家。自幼随父母长期侨居中国镇江、南京等地。在南京金陵大学、中央大学教授英语。1922年起从事文学创作,写有85部作品,大多取材于中国。同情并支持中国人民抗日战争。还曾翻译中国小说《水浒》。1938年获诺贝尔文学奖。
Heart to Home: Selected Short Works by Pearl Buck contains nine stories. They were published around the 1930s, which is basically the same time as the author's representative "Earth Trilogy", and are the works of Pearl Buck at the peak of her artistic creation. About the author
Pearl Buck (1892-1973) was an American writer. Since childhood, he has lived in Zhenjiang, Nanjing and other places in China with his parents for a long time. He taught English at Jinling University and Chung-ang University in Nanjing. He has been engaged in literary writing since 1922 and has written 85 works, mostly based on China. Sympathize with and support the Chinese people in their war of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. He also translated the Chinese novel "Water Margin". He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1938.
