About the author
Dee Brown, a longtime librarian at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is the author of more than twenty-five books on the American West and the American Civil War. He died in 2002. Deng Haiping, a lawyer, received his LL.B. and M.S. from Peking University and his LL.M. from the University of Georgia. The Thirteen Days of September, Founders: The Revolutionary War Generation, and A Brief History of the American Revolutionary War.
