Anton Zeilinger

Austrian physicist, currently President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. He won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2022.

Salinger has been engaged in quantum physics and quantum information research for a long time, and is a pioneer and important pioneer in the field of quantum physics basic test and quantum information in the world. Both theoretically and experimentally, Salinger made a pioneering contribution to the testing of the foundations of quantum physics. Together with his collaborators, he took the lead in conducting quantum interference experiments of neutrons, atoms and macromolecules in the world, realizing the non-locality test of quantum mechanics without local loopholes and detection efficiency loopholes, and proposed and prepared the first multi-particle entangled state (GHZ state) in the experiment, which plays a key role in the basic test of quantum mechanics and quantum information. Based on the fundamental tests of quantum physics, Salinger and his colleagues developed multi-photon interferometry and further applied them to a wide range of quantum information processing, including quantum-intensive coding, long-distance quantum communication, and optical quantum computing. Among them, his work to realize quantum teleportation for the first time in 1997 is recognized as the "opening work" of quantum information experimental research. Since 1983, Salinger has been engaged in regular exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Through the "Micius" quantum science experiment satellite, Salinger's team participated in the intercontinental quantum communication experiment led by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in the form of cooperation. In addition, for the first time in the world, it has made it possible to communicate quantum security between Beijing and Vienna, and this achievement has been selected as the "Top Ten Advances in International Physics in 2018" selected by the American Physical Society.
