伴随着老龄化进程加深，如何让人们有尊严地离去是我国面临的一项艰难议题。本书关注医疗场域的临终与死亡，探索个人对死亡的应对、机构对临终照护服务的设置和考量，以及社会对临终照护的政策与制度安排。“别离难”，这难在临终者难以获得合适的临终照护，难在家属难以与亲人告别，难在提供临终照护的从业者面临巨大压力，而实践安宁疗护的机构也遭遇多重困境。死亡是一个生理事件，更是一个社会文化事件。死亡质量关系着生命的整体质量，关乎医学的价值取向和社会的文明进步。临终照护体系应如何安排，以提供对于国人来说具有社会及文化意义的临终支持？对这一问题的回答需要社会学的视角，从社会文化与制度中来理解临终、死亡及安宁疗护的发展。
作者简介
涂炯，2015年在英国剑桥大学社会学系获得博士学位。中山大学社会学与人类学学院社会学与社会工作系副教授，博士生导师。中山大学“百人计划”引进人才。研究方向为医学社会学、卫生政策与改革、病痛体验与疾病叙事、临终关怀、移动医疗等。出版著作有《癌症患者的疾痛故事：基于一所肿瘤医院的现象学研究》。
How to leave with dignity? Content introduction
With the aging process deepening, how to let people leave with dignity is a difficult issue facing our country. This book focuses on dying and dying in the medical field, exploring individual coping with death, institutional Settings and considerations for end-of-life care services, and social policies and institutional arrangements for end-of-life care. "Separation difficulties" are difficult for the dying to obtain appropriate end-of-life care, difficult for family members to say goodbye to their loved ones, difficult for providers of end-of-life care to face great pressure, and hospice institutions also encounter multiple difficulties. Death is not only a physiological event, but also a social and cultural event. About the author
Tu Jiong received his PhD from the Department of Sociology at the University of Cambridge in 2015. Associate Professor, Department of Sociology and Social Work, School of Sociology and Anthropology, Sun Yat-sen University. Sun Yat-sen University "100 people plan" to introduce talents. His research interests include medical sociology, health policy and reform, pain experience and disease narrative, hospice care, mobile medicine, etc. He is the author of Cancer Patients' Stories of Pain and Illness: A Phenomenological Study Based on a Cancer Hospital.
