【 Content Introduction 】

A literary period book about a generation living in the cycle of work and life.

Why is a psychological problem a political problem? Is it easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism?

"The 21st century is oppressed by a suffocating sense of limitation and exhaustion."

Contemporary thinker, Fisher's works were first introduced into China.

The Internet thinker, the "centre of social media" in the UK in the first five years of the 21st century, Mark Fisher's representative work.

Around 2008, Fisher left London to return to Suffolk, a county filled with memories of childhood holidays, and told his wife: "I'll be happy if it sells 500 copies." At this point, he no longer needs to be constantly vigilant about depression, and everything seems to be going well: sales of small books have exploded, touching the hearts of countless individuals and "inspiring the first large-scale re-politicization of young people in nearly two decades." But in 2017, Fisher left us for good.

This is a "disturbing" little book. A reflective book about the present and the present. From the students' "ennui and boredom faces," Fisher found that the younger generation, as digitally sliced, was addicted to the entertainment matrix; In the movies "Heat" and "The Godfather", we find post-Fordism - organizations are only connected by interests, and they have lost the attachment to place and community in the Godfather era. In the TV variety show, he found the media that follows the principle of hedonism, just like the nanny who feeds us, it only tells the audience "feelings and emotions", and the media field is full of self-centered people...

As soon as the book was published, in sharp contrast to the cold reception in the media, it triggered a high degree of heated discussion among students and became a pocket book for the young generation. The New Yorker, The Guardian, The Irish Times and other well-known media have also published book reviews in the following years, and the well-known book video website Goodreads has amassed a total of 4.23 points (5 points) from 30,000 people.

This small book is a non-constructive big text, which is incompatible with the grand theoretical narrative, but it is a direct blow to the heart of the "current social and economic order". It consists of a set of observational descriptions of social culture, personal reflections and memories; Combines social observation with popular culture to diagnose social mood and contemporary issues.

This little book slides between genres, jumping out of identifiable "niches"; It is a brilliant work around real problems and real experiences, a sharp analysis of the pain and confusion of individuals living in a late capitalist culture.

About the author

Mark Fisher (1968-2017)

K-punk is a British writer, music critic and active thinker on the Internet who documents a changing world in near real time.

In the early 2000s, he blogged under the screen name K-punk, which Simon Reynolds called the center of a "constellation of blogs." He has written several books, including the surprisingly successful "Capitalist Realism"; He is also the co-founder of Zer0 Books. Zer0 Books rose to prominence in the UK publishing world in 2009 with the book Capitalist Realism. The little book has also been hailed as "the unofficial manifesto for the resurgence of the Left in 2011."

Fisher was posthumously recognized as an influential thinker. "The 21st century has not seen a more interesting British writer," Rob Doyle wrote in the Irish Times. The Guardian described Fisher's K-punk blog as "must-read for a generation".
