阿尔芭•德•塞斯佩德斯，古巴裔意大利作家，其祖父卡洛斯•曼努埃尔•德•塞斯佩德斯是古巴共和国第一任总统。塞斯佩德斯15岁时和意大利伯爵朱塞佩•安塔莫罗结婚，育有一子。她的第二任丈夫是意大利外交官弗朗西斯科•布努，她和后者一起参与反法西斯运动，曾两度被捕。
1930年代起，塞斯佩德斯担任《信使报》《新闻报》《小报》等的编辑，推动了诸多意大利新现实主义新闻作品的面世，同时撰写专栏。也是在这一时期，她完成了《退无可退》（1938）、《以她之见》（1949）、《秘密笔记》（1952）、《过去和现在之间》（1956）等著名作品。

When Valeria, 43, went out to buy cigarettes for her husband, she impulsively bought a black notebook for herself and began to write a secret diary.
For six months, the notebook became Valeria's only outlet for her true desires. In it, she increasingly confronts her conflicted and estranged relationship with a pair of children who are about to leave home, and her husband Michele's increasingly empty and pathetic marriage. At the same time, she gradually deep in the office manager Guido emotional entanglements, rekindled their quiet years of life enthusiasm.
When Valeria finally has the courage to plan the Venice trip expected for many years, son Ricardo suddenly announced that his girlfriend Marina is pregnant, a hasty marriage is about to be formed, Valeria's narrow space in the home will be further squeezed, she is determined to destroy the notebook with hatred and pain.
About the author
Alba de Cespedes is a Cuban-Italian writer whose grandfather, Carlos Manuel de Cespedes, was the first president of the Republic of Cuba. At the age of 15, Cespedes married the Italian count Giuseppe Antamoro, with whom he had a son. Her second husband was an Italian diplomat, Francesco Bunu, with whom she was involved in the anti-fascist movement and arrested twice.
From the 1930s, Cespedes was the editor of La Couriere, La Stampa and La Tabloids, promoting the publication of many pieces of Italian neorealist journalism and writing columns. It was also during this period that she wrote such famous works as There Is No Way Back (1938), In Her View (1949), Secret Notes (1952), and Between Past and Present (1956).
Cespedes wrote most of her works after the fall of the fascist government in Italy in 1943, so her work has been regarded by critics as a portrayal of Italian women's life after World War II. He moved to Paris in the 1960s and continued to write until his death. He is the author of eight novels, four collections of short stories, three collections of poetry, two plays, and one screenplay (The Girlfriends, directed by Michelangelo Antonioni).
