This is a rare full-length autobiography by a master of architecture or design. The text of the book is smooth, lyrical and humorous, with a large number of detailed descriptions of characters' behavior and dialogue, which is close to an autobiographical novel, imitating the writing style of the great writer Hugo, whom Wright himself admires. My grandfather and his family immigrated from Wales to the United States, starting with his childhood, youth, first love, entering the field of architecture, as well as marriage, bankruptcy, career depression and the revival of old age, the plot ups and downs, the content is extremely rich.

In the field of modern architecture and design, Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) and Le Corbusier, Gropius, Mies, is recognized as the most influential four masters. In nearly six decades as an architect, Wright designed eleven hundred buildings, of which about five hundred were built. Eight works, including Fallingwater and the Guggenheim Museum in New York, have been included in UNESCO's "World Cultural Heritage". Twenty-five of his buildings are listed as "National Historic Landmarks" by the United States government. In 1991, Wright was named "the greatest American architect of all time" by the American Institute of Architects. In 1966, the United States Postal Service issued a commemorative stamp featuring Wright's face as part of its "Prominent Americans" series. The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has had a permanent hall dedicated to Wright's early architectural style since 1972. Ayn Rand's famous novel "Fountainhead", in which the protagonist is an architect by profession, is based on Wright.
