著者：玛格丽特·弗莱彻（Margaret Fletcher）
毕业于哈佛大学设计研究生院，在奥本大学担任建筑学副教授、建筑学课程副主席，并获得安和贝蒂·格雷沙姆教授职位。在与麦克·斯科金与梅里尔·伊拉姆建筑事务所的设计合作中，弗莱彻参与的项目获得了超过12个美国建筑师协会（AIA）的奖项，其中包括3个国家优秀奖。她被《建筑智慧》杂志评为2019—2020年度美国30位广受尊敬的建筑教育家之一。

This book is an easy-to-read visual guide to architectural style, summarizing and combing the major architectural styles from around the world over thousands of years. It includes nearly 500 architectural sketches by renowned architectural illustrator Robbie Polley, combined with insightful text interpretation by professional architectural scholar Margaret Fletcher, to help readers understand the main points of architectural style. This unique architectural guide covers a wide range of ancient and contemporary architectural styles, from ancient classical to pre-Columbian, Renaissance to Art Nouveau, Brutalism to bionic architecture. The book also has a chapter detailing the domes, columns, arches, Windows and other architectural components, bringing readers a full range of architectural style knowledge.
About the author
Author: Margaret Fletcher
He graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and held the Ann and Betty Gresham Professorship at Auburn University, where he was an associate Professor of architecture and Vice Chair of the Architecture program. In design collaborations with Mike Scogin and Merrill Ealam Architects, Fletcher has worked on projects that have received more than 12 American Institute of Architects (AIA) awards, including three National Awards of Excellence. She was named by Building Wisdom magazine as one of America's 30 widely respected architecture Educators for 2019-2020.
By Robbie Polley
An architectural illustrator with over 25 years of experience, after graduating from the Royal College of Art, he has worked on a number of major architectural projects in the UK and other countries, including the New British Library and the Lisbon Expo. He also works with pencil, ink, watercolor, and Photoshop, and his work has appeared in more than 30 books, including many DK Eyewitness travel guides and Inside and Out (2018).
