在地球“第三极”青藏高原东南部，有个广袤、美丽、富饶的地方叫“康巴”。康巴地区泛指今天的云南省迪庆藏族自治州、青海省玉树藏族自治州、四川省甘孜藏族自治州及凉山彝族自治州木里县和西藏自治区的昌都地区，地域面积达50多万平方公里，人口约250万。康巴有着无数的雪山、冰川、江河、湿地、湖泊等。雪山富集。著名的神山有冈底斯山、念青唐古拉、格拉丹东、贡嘎山和卡瓦格博等等。江河纵横。金沙江、澜沧江、怒江、雅砻江等发源或流经康巴大地，抚育着流域数亿人口，于是人们把它称作“亚洲水塔”。

It covers an area of more than 500,000 square kilometers and has a population of about 2.5 million. Kangba has numerous snow-capped mountains, glaciers, rivers, wetlands, lakes and so on. The mountains are rich in snow. Famous sacred mountains include Mount Gangdise, Nianqing Tanggula, Gladandong, Mount Gongga and Kawagbo. Rivers and rivers flow. The Jinsha River, Lancang River, Nu River, Yalong River and other rivers originate or flow through the Kangba land, tending hundreds of millions of people in the river basin, so people call it the "Asian Water tower."
