【 Content Introduction 】

Colette, writer, journalist, theater actress, first female judge for the Prix Goncourt, "The Great Goddess" (de Beauvoir), "the freest woman in the world", 77 years old, interviewed by French national Radio at her home. In the face of the press, she always maintains her own rhythm, talking about the birth of Crotina, the departure of her mother, the loyalty of the mother cat, the boundary between creation and reality in her unique language...

The interviews span Colette's entire creative career, presenting a Colette who, like her works - "whose light is not bound by any interpretation of literary criticism" - is not bound by any interpretation and misunderstanding.

【 About the author 】

Sidonie Gabrielle Colette, a French national treasure female writer, is also the first French female writer to enjoy the state funeral, known as "the greatest French prose writer in the 20th century" and "the most free woman". She wrote a large number of works for love stories, the main works are "Gigi" "Cheri Baby" and so on, by the Nobel Prize winner Andre Gide praised as "from beginning to end without failure, without nonsense, without conventional." Her works have been translated into many languages and read in many countries. Her life and her work are still moving today, and people continue to rediscover the depth and modernity of her work. Many of Collette's works have been adapted into films, of which the most famous novella "Kiki" adapted musical film "Gold Dust World", won the 31st Academy Awards best film, best director, best adapted screenplay, best cinematography and other nine awards.

She has her own morals... An aristocratic morality. The most distinctive thing I saw in her was: a kind of womanizer, before whom the word might seem contradictory; An ultimate elegance, shrouded in mystery and silence; A refusal to say anything; A fear of chatter. -- Andre Billy

A wonderful goddess. -- Beauvoir

I cried tonight for the first time in a long time, a time when I was overwhelmed with grief, pain and worry. However, the reason why I cried was not because of these, but because I read Misu's letter. The last two letters are masterpieces. -- Marcel Proust

I read Cheri Baby in one sitting. You have grasped an amazing subject, with what wit, what skill, and what understanding of the least-known mysteries of the flesh! From beginning to end, there is no failure, no redundancy, no cliches. -- Andre Gide

To Colette, the only woman of her gender who understood that writing was an art, owned it, and silenced many who ignored her. -- Paul Valeri

Who better than Colette to speak naturally, instinctively and sensuously about plants? ... She has a unique gift for recreating life and its gentle throb in words, the taste of the mountain ash, pink as a small apple, more delicate than the hawthorn, the hyacinth a friend of the ground water, its blue innocence proclaiming the bloom of primrose and trumpet daffodils... -- Alexander Arnou

I think Colette loved journalism, perhaps her favourite smell after the theatre: the smell of the printers, the positive laziness of the newsroom, that other Bohemian life where people embarked on journalistic journeys that were never completed. Gifted, insightful, more sensitive to reality than imagination, her work is a long chronicle and a wonderful report on life, people and nature... -- Gerard Bauer

You are a great theatre critic because you love the theatre as much as you love cats - and you talk about theatre as if it were a small animal, as it is, with its faults and cunning, which we love when we pour our souls into it. For many years, dearest Colette, you poured your soul into the theatres of Paris. -- Arman Salak

She belongs to all of us. To borrow a charming term coined by Margaret Moreno, if summed up in one word... Then she is "Marcolette" (my Colette). -- Philip Elia

No one can build it so well in their imagination... Freedom is embodied in the sharpness of the eye, in the strength and precision of the eye. -- Dominic Orie
