李洋，网名“大旗虎皮”，北京大学艺术学院副院长、教授、博士生导师，教育部青年长江学者，“新迷影丛书”主编，主要研究艺术理论、欧洲电影和电影理论，著有《迷影文化史》《目光的伦理》《莱昂内西部片中的手势》等，译有《走出黑暗》《论电影》《西部往事——塞尔吉奥·莱昂内谈电影》等。。

Content introduction
This book is a collection of film essays of British and American analytical aesthetes, carefully edited and translated by Professor Li Meng of Southwest University, covering the core issues of analytical film theory. The anthologies are written by the most influential analytical philosophers in the United Kingdom and the United States, including Arthur Danto and Noel Carroll. It is an important theoretical work to understand the essence of film language, the characteristics of film language, the relationship between film and emotion, and film and narrative from the perspective of analytical philosophy. In one book, it includes the ideological essence of the British and American analytical aesthetic film theory for more than 40 years.

Li Yang, net name "Daqi Hupi", vice president, professor, doctoral supervisor of Peking University School of Art, Young Changjiang Scholar of the Ministry of Education, editor-in-chief of the "New Fan Film Series", mainly studies art theory, European film and film theory. Li Meng, Ph.D., professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Arts, Southwest University, specializes in analytical aesthetics and analytical film theory.
