Content introduction
Anne Elnor and her lover, Mark Marley, took 14 photos of the couple after sex, and then wrote down what was visible and what was not.
Around the time these photos were taken, Erno developed breast cancer. The author, who wrote about her life through her own experiences, transferred her mutilated body into her photographs, showing her breasts growing with tumors, her hair falling out, and her body being damaged by anti-cancer drugs. Material things become the only evidence of love, death, desire, absence.
"I realized that I was fascinated by photographs, just as I had always been fascinated by stains since childhood: blood, semen, urine stains on sheets or old mattresses left in the hallway; Wine or food stains embedded in wooden countertops; Coffee stains or greasy finger marks on old letter paper. The most materialistic organic stain. I realized I had the same expectations for writing. I want words to be like those smudges that we can't remove."
