Hematologist, who works at the University of Leuven and the Hospital affiliated to the University of Leuven Faculty of Medicine, is a pioneer in the field of stem cell transplantation in Belgium, founding the Stem Cell Institute and the Leuven Cancer Institute. He has been lecturing the public on the history of blood for many years.
