翻译过F.S.

Content introduction
This book is a collection of literary reviews, focusing on more than 20 world-renowned writers, including classic writers such as Jane Austen, Alexandre Dumas, Flaubert and Dickens, as well as modern and contemporary literary masters such as Camus, Fitzgerald, Nabokov, Philip Roth, Doris Lessing, Alice Munro, Kazuo Ishiguro, Tokarchuk and McEwan.

Huang Yuning is the ideal reader that these novelists are looking for. She adheres to the traditional method of close reading, but goes beyond the mold. With her meticulous observation and unique aesthetic, she explores the magic of the details of the novel and reveals the charm of the novel art to the readers. Her writings, from beginning to end, come from details and go to details.

At the same time, in this book, she is an excellent guide to literary reading, with the translator's natural advantages, the writer's personal understanding and the critic's keen clarity, and skillfully shuttle between literature and reality, fiction and criticism. Its delicate perception, unique insights, and immediate analysis, such as a road sign leading to the literary forest, lead readers into the deep literary world.

About the author
Huang Yuning, born in Shanghai, is a versatile writer who spans the three fields of translation, publishing and creation. He has translated works by F.S. Fitzgerald, Henry James, Agatha Christie, Ian McEwan and many other well-known authors. He is the author of a collection of stories "Eight and a half", a collection of essays and reviews "A Man's Castle", "Dreaming of Schubert's dog", "Feminine Reading, Masculine Writing", "Metamorphosis", "False time" and so on. In 2019, his first collection of novels, Eight and a Half, won the first prize of the second Blancper Republic Literature Award.

Wonderful book review
The author's dedication to detail is intended to avoid the kind of empty splendor that is far from the text, but does not follow the old tradition of "clumsy steadiness." Her reading is like touching the skin of the text with her eyes, so the light of inspiration from the details comes unexpectedly, inspiring imagination and thinking, and finally allowing insight and understanding to reach deep and high distances. This is Huang Yuning's unique way of paying tribute to classic writers, while at the same time creating her own style that is not only recognizable, but also admirable and memorable.

-- Liu Qing [Scholar, Professor of East China Normal University]

In this book, learn how to read fiction: from the details, from the cell, from the moment, from a drop of water to perceive the vastness of the world, the depth of life. Huang Yuning is a translator, and translation is to rewrite a novel. In this book, she is at the same time an ideal reader or a super-reader: as if she had written the novel, or even knew more about a novel than the author.

-- Li Jingze [critic, essayist, Vice President of Chinese Writers Association]

Huang Yuning is a foreign language major, a foreign literature editor by profession, and a novelist in her spare time. She is a matryoshka in my eyes. I like the way she talks about novels; she reads too much. Her calmness is the calmness of the owner, her openness is the calmness of the mind.

-- Bi Feiyu [MAO Dun Literature Prize winner, author of "Tuina", "Novel Lessons", etc.]

Each article is tailored to the individual, reflecting Huang Yuning's different affection for each writer.

-- Zhang Yueran [writer, Editor-in-Chief of Carp]
