作者简介
盛林，浙江杭州人，原为《杭州日报》高级编辑、记者、副刊部主任，现旅居美国，纪实散文作家、北美中文作家协会终身会员，著有《嫁给美国》《洋婆婆在中国》《因为爱，飞向美利坚》《骑越阿尔卑斯山》《生活本就是田园》《奇怪的美国人》《半寸农庄》等作品，其中《半寸农庄》获了第三届三毛散文奖（散文集）大奖。

Sheng Lin and her husband, Philippe, were part of a motorcycle team with teammates from eight different countries. Sheng Lin and his fellow riders rode across the Kalahari Desert, the oldest, hottest, widest and most dangerous in the world. They passed through South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and other countries. The adventure lasted 20 days, 6000 kilometers and 23 dangerous road conditions. In the adventure, the author endured hot, dry, bumpy, bandits, beasts and other challenges, as well as the physical limit, the challenge of life and death, as well as the test of will, perseverance and confidence, but also saw the strange desert scenery, witnessed and experienced the ancient, simple and unique lifestyle of the local people.
About the author
Sheng Lin, originally from Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, was a senior editor, reporter, and director of the Supplement department of Hangzhou Daily. Now living in the United States, he is a non-fiction writer and a lifelong member of the Chinese Writers Association of North America. He is the author of such works as "Marry the United States", "Foreign Mother-in-law in China", "Flying to the United States because of love", "Riding over the Alps", "Life is Pastoral", "Strange Americans" and "Half-inch Farm". Among them, "Half Inch Farm" won the third Sanmao Prose Award (essay collection) award.
