　　20世纪80年代，奥地利维也纳，奥尔斯贝格尔夫妇在家举办“艺术家晚宴”。

　　晚上11点半，所谓的“艺术家晚宴”还没有开始，所有人都在等待晚宴贵宾——那位著名的城堡剧院演员——的到来。我坐在带头靠的沙发椅上，一边等待一边观察晚宴现场的人们，回想几十年来接近又疏离艺术世界的经历，回想艺术人的种种境遇，回想今天白天乔安娜的葬礼。

　　在我的眼中，他们早在几十年前，在艺术上，或者说在精神方面，甚至可以说整个心灵都垮掉了。音乐室所有的人，听到我说艺术世界、艺术精神这些词语，好像我在说，如奥尔斯贝格尔夫妇那样，关于“艺术家晚宴”，他们只注意我说的这些词语的声响，至于这些词语在我说它们时对我具有何等意义，他们则无从理解。

　　奥地利著名小说家、剧作家，被公认为20世纪最伟大的德语作家之一，也是“二战”之后德语文坛风格最独特、影响力最大的作家之一，对他有很多称谓：“阿尔卑斯山的贝克特”“敌视人类的作家”“以批判奥地利为职业的作家”“灾难与死亡作家”“夸张艺术家”“故事破坏者”等。

　　特立独行的伯恩哈德以批判的方式关注人生（生存和生存危机）和社会现实（人道与社会变革）。文字极富音乐性，以犀利的夸张、重复和幽默，将人类境遇中种种愚钝与疾病，痛苦与冷漠，习惯与禁忌推向极端，向纷乱昏暗的世界投掷出一支支光与热的火炬。

Thomas Bernhard is one of the greatest German writers of the 20th century, a literary master revered by Updike, Calvino, Sontag, Pamuk, and Jelinek.

He pays attention to life and social reality in a critical way and reveals absurdity and absurdity different from Kafka.

In the 1980s in Vienna, Austria, the Alsberger couple hosted an "artist's Dinner party" at their home.

I sat in the front chair, waiting and watching the people at the dinner party, thinking about the decades of approaching and alienating the art world, thinking about the various circumstances of artists, thinking about Joanna's funeral today.

In my eyes, they broke down decades ago, artistically, spiritually, even spiritually. All the people in the music room, when they heard me say the words art world, art spirit, as if I were saying, as the Allsberger's did, about the "Artists' Dinner," they only noticed the sound of the words I said, and they could not understand what they meant to me when I said them.

Thomas Bernhard (1931-1989)

A famous Austrian novelist and playwright, he is recognized as one of the greatest German writers of the 20th century, and one of the most unique and influential writers in German literature after World War II. "Beckett of the Alps," "writer hostile to humanity," "writer who made a career of criticizing Austria," "writer of disaster and death," "artist of exaggeration," "story breaker," etc.

The maverick Bernhard focuses critically on life (survival and existential crisis) and social reality (humanity and social change). The text is highly musical, and with sharp exaggeration, repetition and humor, it takes all kinds of stupidity and disease, pain and indifference, habits and taboos in the human condition to the extreme, throwing a torch of light and heat to the chaotic and dim world.
