作者简介
徐灵凤，于1977年出生于纽约的法拉盛，第三代华人移民。曾担任《旅游休闲》杂志编辑，也为《国家地理》《沙龙》《旅行者》等杂志撰稿。曾获得过拉德克利夫旅游奖学金、洛厄尔•托马斯旅游新闻奖以及简•欧宝奖。本书曾获2009年美国亚太文学奖。

In search of her own Chinatown experience, the author traveled to five different famous Chinatowns and interviewed many Chinese living there. These five Chinatowns have their own characteristics: San Francisco Chinatown is the oldest, New York Chinatown is the largest, Los Angeles Chinatown is one of the Hollywood landmarks, Honolulu Chinatown has the most diverse ethnic groups, Las Vegas Chinatown is located in a shopping mall... The author tells the differences and similarities of the five Chinatowns, the discrimination of Chinatowns, the hard living and working environment, and the evolution of Chinatowns in the past hundred years, revealing the vitality and cultural heritage of the Chinese behind the vibrant microcosm of Chinatown.
About the author
Xu Lingfeng, born in 1977 in Flushing, New York, is a third-generation Chinese immigrant. He has been an editor at Travel & Leisure magazine and has written for National Geographic, Salon, and Traveler. He has received the Radcliffe Travel Fellowship, the Lowell Thomas Prize for Travel Journalism, and the Jane Opel Prize. The book won the 2009 Asia Pacific Literature Award.
