雷沙德·卡普钦斯基,波兰新闻和文学界一位里程碑式的人物。在四十余年驻外记者的生涯中,他的足迹遍及六十多个国家,特别是深入拉美、非洲、中东等人迹罕至的蛮荒地带,他更亲临火线,发回大量弥漫着硝烟的真实报道和照片。他一生亲历二十七场革命和政变,四次被判死刑,四十余次被关押。作为作家,他创作了二十余部文学作品,六次被提名诺贝尔文学奖候选人,被誉为20世纪最具影响力的作家之一。其主要著作有《生命中的另一天》(1976)、《皇帝》(1978)、《伊朗王中王》(1982)、《帝国》(1993)、《太阳的影子》(1998)、《与希罗多德一起旅行》(2004)等。

"Empire" is Kapuschinsky's private report on his travels through Russia. This non-fiction is Kapuschinsky's work with all his efforts and efforts, and provides readers with an all-round and multi-perspective analysis of Russia's past. Kapuscinski is a landmark figure in Polish journalism and literature, and this non-fiction is his private report on his travels across Russia. The 20th century began with the Soviet revolution and ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union, and there are many books about the Soviet Union, but this non-fiction is Kapuschinsky's effort to analyze Russia's past from all angles and perspectives.
About the author
Ryshad Kapuscinski, a landmark figure in Polish journalism and literature. In more than 40 years of career as a foreign correspondent, he has traveled to more than 60 countries, especially in the uninhabited areas of Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and other places, and he has been in the line of fire, sending back a large number of real reports and photos filled with smoke. During his lifetime, he witnessed 27 revolutions and coups, was sentenced to death four times, and was imprisoned more than 40 times. As a writer, he wrote more than 20 literary works, was nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature six times, and is regarded as one of the most influential writers of the 20th century. His major books include Another Day in the Life (1976), The Emperor (1978), The King of Kings of Iran (1982), Empire (1993), Shadow of the Sun (1998), and Traveling with Herodotus (2004).
