　　《北京与江户：17-18世纪的城市空间》以17—18世纪的北京与江户为基本线索，侧重研究了城市中的政治与商业。第一、二、三章从城市空间的视角出发，讨论了政治体制对城市特别是都城的重要影响，以及在政治体制影响下中日各自的城市特点，论证了城市空间状态中的人居与造物多是由政府通过行政规划来完成的；另外还论述了在商业空间的形成及移动过程中起作用的因素等。在第四、五章中，将问题转向城市空间中的人群，即商人与町人、官僚与武士，此外还有旗人，分别找寻他们在城市化过程中所遇到的问题，并予以论述，从社会史的角度对城市中最主要的两大居民群体进行了观察。《北京与江户：17-18世纪的城市空间》由刘凤云所著。

　　17—18世纪，无论是在中国的传统城市还是在日本武士的城下町，都没有西方意义上的市民阶级，但是，城市生活中的商业流通与货币需求使得中国的商人和日本的町人成为城市中的主要居民，并在城市经济中充当了主要的角色。由这一点所产生出的一些相同性是不容置疑的。但是，如果说中国城市的建立是为了收取货币地租与各种赋税的话，那么日本的城下町的建立则完全是为了解决进入城市的武士的生活需求。前者体现的是官僚政治体制下的地主经济，而后者体现的是封建领主经济。于是，在两种不尽相同的经济运行过程中，虽然中国的商人与日本的町人在社会角色上都属于城市的附属物，但两者的地位以及作用却有着天壤之别。

　　刘凤云，哈尔滨市人，毕业于中国人民大学清史研究所，获历史学博士学位，现为中国人民大学清史研究所教授，博士研究生导师。多年来一直从事清代政治史、明清城市史的相关研究。曾应邀到日本东海大学、香港理工大学作访问研究员，并进行合作研究。曾任北京日本学研究中心客座研究员。先后出版了《清代三藩研究》、《吴三桂传》、《明清城市空间的文化探析》等学术专著，并发表学术论文90余篇。

Introduction of works

Beijing and Edo: Urban Space in the 17th and 18th Centuries takes Beijing and Edo in the 17th and 18th centuries as its basic clue, focusing on urban politics and commerce. From the perspective of urban space, the first, second and third chapters discuss the important influence of political system on cities, especially the capital, and the respective urban characteristics of China and Japan under the influence of political system, and demonstrate that the settlement and creation of urban space state are accomplished by the government through administrative planning. In addition, it also discusses the factors that play a role in the formation and movement of commercial space. In the fourth and fifth chapters, the problem is turned to the people in the urban space, namely merchants and town people, bureaucrats and samurai, and flag people, respectively to find and discuss the problems they encounter in the process of urbanization, and observe the two main resident groups in the city from the perspective of social history. In the 17th and 18th centuries, there was no citizen class in the Western sense, either in the traditional Chinese cities or in the samurai towns of Japan. However, the commercial circulation and monetary demands of urban life made Chinese merchants and Japanese machinese the main residents of the cities and played a major role in the urban economy. Some of the similarities that arise from this cannot be doubted. However, if Chinese cities were established to collect money and land rent and various taxes, then Japan's castle town was established solely to meet the needs of the samurai who entered the city. The former reflects the landlord economy under the bureaucratic political system, while the latter reflects the feudal Lord economy. Therefore, in the two different economic processes, although the Chinese businessmen and the Japanese machin both belong to the appendages of the city in terms of social roles, their status and functions are worlds apart.

Liu Fengyun, a native of Harbin City, graduated from the Institute of Qing History of Renmin University of China with a doctorate in history. Now she is a professor and doctoral supervisor of the Institute of Qing History of Renmin University of China. For many years, he has been engaged in the political history of Qing Dynasty and the urban history of Ming and Qing dynasties. He was invited to Japan Tokai University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University as visiting researchers and conducted collaborative research. He was a visiting researcher at Beijing Japanese Research Center. He has published academic monographs such as "Research on San Francisco in Qing Dynasty", "Biography of Wu Sangui", "Cultural Analysis of Urban Space in Ming and Qing Dynasties", and more than 90 academic papers.
