Our native language, our second language, actually provides us with very different perspectives for extracting and compiling information. Language can influence our actions by changing how we think and feel, transforming our perceptions and memories, altering the decisions we make, and regenerating our thoughts and insights.

Viorica Marian
American psycholinguist, cognitive scientist, and psychologist, distinguished professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders and Professor of Psychology at Northwestern University, researcher in the Bilingual and psycholinguistic Research Group, known for his bilingual and multilingual studies. She has published more than 100 academic papers in international high-level journals such as Applied Linguistics, Memory and Language Journal, and Scientific American, which have been reported by more than 100 media outlets around the world, including BBC and NBC.
She speaks Romanian, Russian and English, as well as more than a dozen languages including American Sign Language, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Japanese, Polish, Spanish, Thai and Ukrainian.
