【 Content Introduction 】
Will the wounds heal? How do people respond positively to traumatic stress after a change? How do you adjust to life after trauma?
Based on 40 years of research, pioneering psychology scholar and Columbia University clinical psychology professor George A. Bonanno points out that much of what we think about trauma is wrong. In the book, he explores the history of PTSD diagnoses and the changing understanding of trauma. Drawing on the experiences of war witnesses, 9/11 survivors, and people in accidents, he discusses what makes people resilient, why they sometimes lose their resilience, and how people can better deal with trauma.
