We called for my mother to come home, and she became a screaming madwoman, ruined by a family accident;
Wailing across the wilderness, the women of the Night's Watch write furiously on paper tents to ward off monsters.
About the author
Margaret Atwood (born November 18, 1939) is a two-time winner of the Booker Prize and a popular candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature. His works have been translated into more than 40 languages and sold well in more than 50 countries. Since the 1960s, he has published nearly 40 novels, 18 collections of poetry and won more than 140 major awards in world literature.
When she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Society of Book Reviewers Awards, the presenter said, "She is not one woman, but 20 women, 30 women." She has so many different voices as a writer."
