　　《平乐县志》是作家颜歌最新长篇小说，也是其“平乐镇系列”终曲。全书共十四章，以平乐镇东街为故事发生地。以即将退休的县志办副主任傅祺红和其儿媳陈地菊为双主人公，串起一对青年男女的成长离合与小镇官场的世相起落。人人都各具心事，欲求圆满而不得。当这两条线交汇，织成一个被精心设计的陷阱，丝丝缕缕剖开局中之局，生死残酷的机关一触即发。整部小说像平乐镇的一份文学档案，全景式地记录下2010年左右平乐镇东街的全貌与人心浮动，折射出小镇的城市化、互联网经济发展等诸多时代变迁的印迹。

　　《平乐县志》是一部后现代的“三言二拍”。颜歌对三言二拍话本小说进行有意识的现代改造，用说书人的腔调展开叙事，加以各种旧体诗词韵文的巧妙使用，并采用诙谐生动活色生香的四川方言，使得小说文本具有丰富的层次与空间，同时极富阅读乐趣，展现出对现代汉语和当代故事极强的重塑能量。

　　颜歌，小说家，1984年生于四川成都，中文作品包括长篇小说《我们家》《五月女王》和短篇小说集《平乐镇伤心故事集》等。曾获茅盾文学新人奖、《人民文学》“未来大家TOP20”、华语文学传媒大奖新人奖等奖项。作品被翻译成英文、法文、德文等十一国文字出版。获得英国笔会翻译奖、2021年华威女性翻译文学奖银奖及2021年《纽约时报》年度关注图书。她是2019年都柏林国际文学奖的五位评委之一，又于2021年作为终审评委参与了爱尔兰国家桂冠文人的评选。

　　颜歌的英文作品见于《纽约时报》《格兰塔》《爱尔兰时报》《刺人氓》《布里克》等刊物，入选爱尔兰国家图书奖短篇小说奖长名单。她有东英吉利大学的创意写作MFA学位。首部英文短篇小说集Elsewhere由英国的Faber&Faber和美国的Scribner出版社在2023年夏季出版，入选《纽约客》年度图书榜。

"Pingle County Chronicle" is the writer Yan Ge's latest novel, and also the final song of his "Pingle Town series". The book consists of 14 chapters, with Pingle Town East Street as the story place. With Fu Qihong, the deputy director of the county Annals Office who is about to retire, and his daughter-in-law Chen Diju as the double protagonist, the growth of a pair of young men and women is connected with the ups and downs of the town's officialdom. Every man has his heart in his heart, and wants to be perfect. When these two lines meet, weaving into a carefully designed trap, the threads of the bureau in the bureau, the cruel organs of life and death are triggered. The whole novel is like a literary archive of Pingle Town, a panoramic record of the whole picture of East Street of Pingle town around 2010 and the floating of people's hearts, reflecting the town's urbanization, the development of the Internet economy and many other times.

Pingle County Chronicle is a post-modern "three words and two shots". Yan Ge makes a conscious modern transformation of the Sanyan-erpai novel, narrating in a storyteller's tone, using a variety of old poetry verses skillfully, and employing the witty and vivid Sichuan dialect, making the novel text rich in layers and space, and full of reading pleasure, showing a strong reshaping energy of modern Chinese and contemporary stories.

About the author

Yan Ge, a novelist, was born in Chengdu, Sichuan Province in 1984. Her Chinese works include the novels "Our Family" and "May Queen" and the short story collection "Sad Stories of Pingle Town". His works have been translated into English, French, German and other languages in 11 countries. She won the British Pen Translation Award, the Warwick Women's Literary Prize for Translation in 2021 and the New York Times Book of the Year in 2021. She was one of the five judges of the 2019 Dublin International Literary Prize and was a finalist in the selection of Ireland's National Literati Laureate in 2021.

Her English works have appeared in publications such as The New York Times, Granta, The Irish Times, Stab the People, and Brick, and have been shortlisted for the Irish National Book Award for Short Fiction. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia. The first collection of short stories Elsewhere in English was published by Faber&Faber in the United Kingdom and Scribner in the United States in the summer of 2023, and was selected for the New Yorker Book of the Year list.
