In 2012, Adichie was invited to give a TED talk on feminism, which quickly became a worldwide hit. "We Should All Be Feminists" is a revised version of that speech.
Feminists are unhappy people? A man hater? People who don't like lip gloss and high heels? Born in 1977 in the southern Nigerian city of Enugu into an intellectual family, he studied in the United States, studying communications and political science at Eastern Connecticut State University, before earning master's degrees at Johns Hopkins University and Yale University, respectively.
Her first novel, Purple Hibiscus, was nominated for the Orange Fiction Award in 2004, and her second novel, Half Round of Yellow Sun, won the Orange Fiction Award in 2007. The Thing Around the Neck was nominated for the 2009 Frank O 'Connor International Short Story Award. The Yank won the 2013 National Society of Book Critics Award for Fiction.
In 2014, she became famous for her TED talk, "We Should All Be Feminists."
